This practice is widely used by fake accounts or bots, which thus spread political messages and fake news to as many users as possible.

Avoid any political consequences

If Twitter has decided to act against this type of practice, it is also because of the approach of the American presidential election in early November.

Objective: to avoid any political consequences and not to reproduce the errors of the last election, where social networks had largely served as a medium for propaganda.
