Wearing a mask becomes compulsory everywhere in Lyon and Villeurbanne

After Paris, Marseille and Strasbourg in particular, the Lyonnais will have to comply from Tuesday to the obligation to wear the mask in all the streets of the city, and not only in the Presqu'île.

The prefect of the Rhône Pascal Mailhos has just announced this Monday this extension of the wearing of the mask, throughout Lyon but also Villeurbanne.

From September 1, the only exemption concerns cyclists and joggers as elsewhere.

"It is a reasonable constraint that we must accept for a while", believes Pascal Mailhos to justify a decision taken in the context of an upsurge in the number of cases affected by Covid-19 in hospitals in the Rhône, classified red for four days. .

For the rest of the department and the metropolis of Lyon, the mask will be mandatory within a radius of 50 meters around schools, train stations, public transport stations and bus stops.
