Demonstration test of evacuation center management using AI while taking corona measures 23:17 on August 31st

When a disaster occurred, a demonstration experiment was conducted in Imabetsu Town, Aomori Prefecture, to use AI = artificial intelligence and take measures to prevent new coronavirus infection while operating an evacuation center.

Amid the challenge of how to manage evacuation shelters while taking measures against infection during a disaster, this demonstration experiment was conducted with the participation of 20 companies at the call of companies and groups made up of academic experts.

Assuming that a huge earthquake off the coast of Hokkaido occurred and many residents gathered at the shelter, we confirmed the operation method using AI = artificial intelligence.

A face authentication system was introduced at the entrance of the gymnasium, which was supposed to be an evacuation center. It was measured automatically.

In addition, a terminal that can be operated without touching the screen of the touch panel and a system that measures the concentration of carbon dioxide in evacuation centers and informs the need for ventilation were introduced.

Mr. Hisaaki Nakajima, Mayor of Bebetsu Town, said, “It was a good experience. I would like to continue considering new technology while listening to the needs of the town residents.” The organizer, the Resilience Japan Promotion Council, will organize the results this October and make recommendations to the national government on the ideal state of evacuation shelters.
