Wearing a mask in nurseries, childminders or for the care of small children at home will still "not be compulsory in the presence of children" from Monday, announced Sunday the Ministry of Health and the secretariat of State in charge of Childhood.

However, "a new scientific opinion was requested to assess the advisability of changing" the rules concerning the wearing of the mask "in the coming days", they warn. From Monday, the reception of children will resume "its usual organization" and "children from different groups" can "be mixed", which will allow "in particular to bring together children from different sections in the morning and in the evening".
The role of the ARS strengthened to manage positive cases
Another change: if the reception of a child had been suspended "as a preventive measure" or after a positive test, "the presentation of a medical certificate is no longer compulsory" for his readmission. This can be done as appropriate "at the end of the fortnight or after the recovery of the child" and "a certificate on the honor of the parents is sufficient".
The role of regional health agencies (ARS) is strengthened. "Until now limited to cases of clusters in nurseries", it is "extended to all confirmed cases - from the first case - in all childcare facilities", micro-creches, day-care centers, nurseries groups, family nurseries, kindergartens, homes for childminders, childminders' relays (RAM) and child-parenting places (LAEP).
New health measures in case of worsening of the epidemic
The “exceptional extension” of childminder approvals will “end on September 30”. On this date, childminders will no longer be able to “exceptionally welcome more children than the number fixed by their approval without authorization from the department”. However, an extension of the approval will remain "possible after agreement of the president of the departmental council".
