They did not wait for the start of the school year to chant their discontent. Nearly 150 "yellow vests" gathered this Saturday in Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées), alongside militants mutilated during demonstrations, to denounce "state and police violence", according to an AFP journalist present on site.

"When you choose to govern by violence, the citizens are in a dirty state", could one read on one of the banners waved by the demonstrators during this parade at the end of the morning in the center of the locality.

"We are presented as thugs, it's false"

Jérôme Rodrigues, one of the figures of the movement, who has become one of the symbols of police violence against "yellow vests" after the loss of his right eye in January 2019, was present in the procession. The demonstrators marched behind other disabled people, including Gwendal Leroy, knocked out in January 2019 at the age of 27 during a demonstration in Rennes.

“We are presented as thugs, it's not true. I am here so that we are recognized as political wounded by weapons of war, it is a question of morals ”, he affirmed.

An event scheduled for September 12 in Paris

Unemployed since his injury, which he attributes to a grenade fire and before which he planned to be a gendarme, this "early yellow vest" claims to wait "without illusions" for the consequences of a complaint filed against X and the state.

The meeting, before a new demonstration in Paris of "yellow vests" scheduled for September 12, was organized by local activists, on the occasion of a visit by David Libeskind, lawyer at the Paris bar and defender of "vests yellow ”.
