Jérôme Bonduelle, general manager of the agrifood group which bears the name of his family, died after an accident, on the night of Friday to Saturday in Lille. While on a bicycle, Jérôme Bonduelle was hit by a car whose driver fled, near the Euralille shopping center in downtown Lille (North), where Bonduelle's historic headquarters are located.

Dead instantly

According to France 3 Hauts-de-France, Jérôme Bonduelle, aged 50, was riding his bike with his wife and friends around 2 a.m. The SAMU and the firefighters who arrived after the accident found that the company director had died instantly. The driver was arrested on Saturday morning.

Bonduelle employs 14,000 people worldwide. Son of Bruno Bonduelle, founder of the group, Jérôme Bonduelle joined the family business in 2003.
