He loved his adventures from a young age, and how not when he is the son of a city whose shoulders are mountains and its sea dress, the city of Khorfakkan, which for many is the ideal destination for practicing mountain and marine sports.

When he was 12 years old, Sultan Al-Obaidli built with his brothers and friends a hut above a large sidr tree to simulate the experience of living amid nature in primitive conditions, and in his 37th year he raised his head a day, towards the eastern hills, and whoever sees him thinks that he is looking at a mountain top directly while He was seeing something different. He was seeing an elegant zigzag line, that zigzag line, and today it is known as the hill mountain path.

But let's go back in time ten years, specifically in 2009, when it related to the sport of "hiking" on the island of Vanuatu, located in the Pacific Ocean known for its active volcanoes and the beauty of its nature, which was visited by the Emirati delegation participating in the "Ship of the World Youth" program organized annually by the Japanese government Sultan said to me, under whose banner dozens of young people from different cultures and parts of the earth gathered together, “This trip changed me.” Sultan said that he got to know many personalities who grew up in different environments from him who contributed to greatly enriching his human experience, and he returned from this trip with many lessons he learned there. After many years, he still retains that spark that emanated in Vanuatu ... the love of hiking.

Going back and forth on the mountain that enjoys a captivating view of the city of Khorfakkan and the eastern coast, Sultan kept testing the path himself, and re-drawing it again and again, until he reached its optimal shape after several months of continuous work, taking into account the best international safety standards.

Dozens and sometimes hundreds of hiking enthusiasts flock to the track on a weekly basis after it had achieved success in attracting tourists and the rate of people losing people in the mountains decreased significantly. The Rabi track has become one of the city's prominent landmarks, since it was opened by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan. Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah in 2019 coinciding with the opening of the adjacent Rabi Tower, which was under the supervision and support of the Department of Planning and Survey in the emirate. Hardly a few days pass without I saw a friend or follower on social media post pictures of them while they were visiting the track, so what does that tell us?

We can reduce the cases of hiking enthusiasts losing in the mountains by establishing more officially approved mountain paths, and this is one of the solutions.
