The theme of this forum is set to look forward to China and the world, global economic and energy changes, and the main consideration is based on the fact that change is the most significant feature of the world today. How to open a new game in the changing situation is not only a question that China needs to answer, but also a common concern of the world.

[Explanation] Chen Junjun pointed out that as a responsible participant in international energy cooperation, China is willing to explore ways of cooperation with all parties.

First, we must have a deep understanding of changes and challenges. Second, we must cooperate to respond to changes and challenges. In the era of globalization, no country can independently solve its own energy security problems. Third, we must actively embrace changes and challenges. Cleanliness and low carbon are the main keynotes of current global energy development. China has actively followed the trend of energy transformation and reform. After years of hard work, hard-won achievements have been made in terms of the transformation of traditional energy structure and the development and utilization of renewable energy. In the national "14th Five-Year" energy development plan, the growth of the clean energy industry is believed to be placed in an important position.

[Explanation] Wang Yi, member of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress and vice president of the Institute of Science and Technology Strategy Consulting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that the current uncertainties may extend the peak period of China's carbon emissions. China needs to establish low-carbon targets and incorporate green recovery into China's economic recovery plan.

The first important aspect is that we should establish a future-oriented sustainable integrated energy (supply system). From a green perspective, we must consider how to ensure the sustainability of energy supply. The second aspect is the establishment of a target model for a modern energy and environmental system. On the basis of existing targets, it also includes how to accelerate and orderly withdraw coal. It is necessary to formulate an orderly timetable to accelerate the reform of the energy market. . The third aspect is to incorporate green recovery into the economic recovery plan. It is necessary for a department to coordinate the promotion, formulate a bottom-up comprehensive plan, strengthen international cooperation, and achieve our future energy transition goals.

[Explanation] Nicholas Stern, co-chairman of the Global Economic and Climate Committee (New Climate Economy), pointed out that in the long run, low-carbon development is the only viable development path. With the arrival of China's "14th Five-Year Plan", it is very much hoped that China will play an important role in demonstrating and leading the world in the development of low-carbon economy in the future.

In the past, we were always thinking about what the world means to China, what opportunities the world brings to China, and how the world can change China. But now, as China’s global role changes, we are thinking more about how China has an impact on the world. What will China bring to the world. As China's "14th Five-Year Plan" is approaching, we are very much looking forward to China's role in demonstrating and leading the world in the development of low-carbon economy in the future. We also believe that China is ready in these areas.
