In colleges and high schools, the start of the school year will be masked. While the Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer has announced that wearing a mask will be compulsory in class for students from 11 years old, it remains to be seen who will finance them ...

In Loire-Atlantique, a few days before the start of the school year, the president of the departmental council Philippe Grosvalet has taken the lead. He announced in a press release published on Wednesday that the 140 public and private colleges in the department “will receive protective masks for the students”.

Double allocation in the PWR zone

In total, more than 75,000 masks will therefore be distributed to schools, for a total expenditure of 230,000 euros. “Each establishment will receive free of charge an allocation equivalent to the number of college students present in the establishment. This allocation will be doubled for colleges located in the REP zone ”, specifies the departmental council.
