Indonesia: We will reopen cinemas because they boost the immune system

The Indonesian authorities said today, Wednesday, that cinemas can resume their activities, noting that going to cinemas brings a sense of happiness and improves the immunity of pioneers.

"Cinemas contribute significantly to the entertainment of citizens," said Wiko Addissamito, an epidemiologist and spokesman for the task force concerned with combating the Coronavirus, during a press conference. It makes them happy, and boosts their immune system. ”

He added that the team of experts with the task force analyzed studies on reopening cinemas, which were closed last March due to the outbreak of the Corona virus.

The cinemas will receive those between the ages of 13 and 59 years, who do not suffer from diabetes, or any type of lung or heart disease, or from a weak immune system.

Movie-goers will also have to wear masks all the time to watch movies that last more than two hours. Food and beverages will not be permitted at the cinema, and tickets will only be purchased online.

Each district administration will develop a plan to reopen cinemas.

It is reported that Indonesia recorded 2,306 cases of Coronavirus today, bringing the total number of cases to 160,165, including 115,409 cases of recovery. Also, deaths from the virus increased, after 86 cases were recorded, to 6,944 cases.
