The Loire-Atlantique federation of hunters is not fading. During the night from Saturday to Sunday, five waterfowl hunting structures and a dozen wooden watchtowers were destroyed in the Fégréac marshes, in the north of the department. Tags hostile to the practice of hunting were painted red on several installations. An action claimed on the Internet by antispeciesists.
In recent months, hunting vehicles had already been vandalized in Savenay, while the headquarters of the departmental federation in Nantes had been degraded.
"Growing feeling of injustice"
"How long will we have to endure these actions against legal and cultural activity?" the federation is indignant. In a rule of law and democracy, is it acceptable to see this property destroyed and its property violated by groups of people who have decided to impose their own worldview on the whole of society through violence? We ask that the public authorities and elected officials really become aware of the growing sense of injustice, faced with the impunity of these actions and their perpetrators. "
The hunters are calling for a bill on the offense of obstructing hunting.
