He puts the cover back for a second season from this Monday. Cyril Lignac, who offered more than a hundred recipes to the French during confinement, is preparing for a new season of Tous En Cuisine . The show, which gathered up to 2.6 million viewers in April, returns to M6 with the same concept as before: simple, accessible and inexpensive recipes, achievable in less than an hour. in hand.

Cyril Lignac will again be accompanied by Jérôme Anthony. No longer restricted by the rules of confinement, the latter will go out into the fresh air to surprise families or to meet the producers who hide behind the chef's kitchen. For 20 Minutes , Cyril Lignac looks back on the first season of the program, the enthusiasm it aroused and the reasons why he agreed to sign for a second round.

You weren't supposed to be leaving for a new season. What made you change your mind?

When we did the first season, it was during confinement and we had to stop to resume filming of the Best Pastry Chef in particular. It worked so well, people loved it so much, there was such enthusiasm that we decided to leave. It's always a pleasure to share this moment. When we finished the show, it was very moving because we experienced something strong. I want to start over because it was a moment of grace on TV. It was like a commitment to viewers.

Was there a time when you realized how you made your way into the French household during the lockdown?

I saw the enthusiasm that was being implemented. When we were confined, I didn't go out of the house, so I saw the excitement through the audiences, the posts, the social networks and this sharing with the public. If I do this job as a cook, it is to give happiness to people, with the principle of passing on what I have learned. That's why I feel good about this program. We change our ideas. Of course, when I went out, when life resumed, I saw the kindness of the people. It's quite disconcerting and it touches me.

What memories do you have from the first season?

The strongest memory was the last one, with Jérôme Anthony arriving at my place after three months we had only been doing visios. This great emotion marked me a lot. But throughout these three months, every evening was a moment of happiness. It's live so you don't know what's going to happen. I think August 24, and even for a week, I will stress. It will be three months since I did not do it so I will resume my rhythm but there is no net, it's cooking at the same time as you. There is the apprehension of doing well and you have to find your organization. For the show of August 24, I will prepare myself seriously until the moment when I will hear "antenna in 3, 2,1 ..."

Has the show changed the way you think about cooking?

It doesn't change the kitchen partition of my restaurants. But in fact, what has changed is that I have never cooked so much at home so I enjoyed writing simple and accessible recipes. The confinement was good because it allowed me to rediscover what it was like to cook in the house. There, I cooked from A to Z like the French even though I hadn't done it like this for 20 years.

You will be back for the new season of the Best Pastry Chef . Does it do you good to share your advice “in real” and no longer through a screen?

Coming back to Le Meilleur Pâtissier is always a joy because we are a family. The candidates are great, we are discovering personalities from all over France. But above all, through a screen, I don't eat cakes ( laughs ). Giving cooking classes, I did it for a long time so I watched what people were doing at the same time as me. But in my head, I also thought about all these people looking at me, and that I had to give the best advice possible.
