The Batman , with Robert Pattinson debuting as the masked superhero, was the highlight of the DC FanDome , the virtual macro-event that Warner Bros., having no Comic-Con this year, organized today to finalize its future plans on adaptations from DC Comics stories.

Along with this new and ambitious project on Batman, which presented its first images today, Warner Bros. also today gave some details of other important bets in the world of superheroes, from Wonder Woman 1984 to the new montage of Justice League going through the premiere of Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam.

But although it was a long and intense day of news and secrets uncovered, the attention of all fans was on The Batman .

Director Matt Reeves was in charge of announcing the "teaser" (first trailer) for this highly anticipated Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson leading a cast that also includes Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis.

"I am vengeance" says Pattinson at a time of the first advance murky and violent images accompanied by the song Something in the Way of Nirvana .

Reeves showed his admiration for Pattinson: "He is an incredible actor."

"He is like a chameleon (...). And he has the appearance of Batman, but above all he has the soul of someone who can play Batman in a way that we have not seen until now," he added.

The filmmaker assured that this film, whose premiere is scheduled for October 2021, will not show the origins of the character but will try to reflect a Bruce Wayne already as Batman "making mistakes, growing up, falling down and being a hero" from a perspective "human" .

And he pointed out that for this film, in the form of a detective thriller, he has been inspired by classics from the 70s such as "Chinatown" (1974), "The French Connection" (1971) or "Taxi Driver" (1976).

LIFE BEYOND 'THE BATMAN'

Batman wasn't the only superhero invited to the DC FanDome.

Dwayne Johnson appeared for the first time as Black Adam to offer some film brushstrokes about this DC Comics antihero that will be modeled by Spanish filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra .

"I want you to help me send a message to the rest of DC's superheroes: let's let The Flash, Shazam, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman know that things are not going to be the same because the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe it's going to change, "promised the actor about this film that will be released at the end of next year.

Much closer is, in principle, Wonder Woman 1984 , a sequel to Wonder Woman (2017) and whose premiere has been delayed until October this year due to the coronavirus.

Director Patty Jenkins assured that the wait will be worth it because this is a blockbuster made as "a visual spectacle" for the big screen.

Again starring Gal Gadot, Wonder Woman 1984 released a new trailer today featuring Kristen Wiig as the evil Cheetah.

Another great Warner Bros. project on DC Comics is the film about The Flash directed by Argentine Andy Muschietti.

With Ezra Miller as the ultra-fast hero, the filmmaker explained that the most important thing to him is "getting to the heart" of the Barry / The Flash story.

This film, whose landing in theaters is set in June 2022, is expected to address the idea of the "multiverse", a great narrative framework in which different superheroes and villains coexist in different worlds, plots and temporal realities.

One of the most morbid moments of the day was the presentation of the trailer, with Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen as the musical background, of the new assembly of The Justice League (2017) that Zack Snyder will take to the HBO Max platform in 2021.

This new interpretation of The League of Justice will be divided into four chapters of one hour each.

The sequel to Shazam (2019), which will be titled Shazam! Fury of the Gods ; slight details of the continuation of Aquaman ; and the meeting of the entire cast of the reinvention of The Suicide Squad , with director James Gunn and Latino actors such as Juan Diego Botto , also had their share of the spotlight on DC FanDome today.
