Humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan Photo exhibition of late Dr. Satoshi Nakamura Saitama Sugito Town August 23 12:02

A photo exhibition that looks back on the activities of Dr. Satoshi Nakamura, a doctor who was shot and died last year after being involved in humanitarian assistance and reconstruction in Afghanistan for many years, is being held in Sugito, Saitama Prefecture.

At the Sugito Town Lifelong Learning Center at the venue, about 130 photographs of Mr. Nakamura, who died in Afghanistan in December last year and is working with local people, are displayed.

Of these, the picture of Mr. Nakamura attending the threshing work of wheat six years ago shows the bright look of Mr. Nakamura who is pleased with the result.

In addition, Mr. Nakamura, who also treated patients as a doctor, is introduced to the site.

Tomohiro Yoneyama, Chief of the Sugito Town Residents' Collaboration Division, who sponsored the event, said, “I hope this will be an opportunity to think about Mr. Nakamura's overseas activities and peace.”

The photo exhibition is free of charge and is open until the 26th of this month.
