In France, 4,700 new cases of Covid-19 in twenty-four hours
The number of new contagions is increasing at full speed in France. The country has exceeded in the last 24 hours the 4,700 new cases of Covid-19, according to figures from the Directorate General of Health (DGS). An inspection mission on suicide in prison launched today
In 2019, 128 prisoners committed suicide in France, three less than in 2018, according to the management of the prison administration (DAP). Between January 1 and August 17, 82 suicides have already been recorded, against 72 over the same period last year. This Friday, Eric Dupond-Moretti is therefore launching an inspection mission to strengthen the prevention of suicide in prison and to clarify, in particular, the circumstances in which an inmate of Baumettes, former teacher in pre-trial detention for a month, gave himself death in early August.
