One of the three major festivals in Kyoto, the Heian costume used for the festival, was dried at Heian Shrine in Kyoto.

The Jidai Festival is one of Kyoto's three major festivals held in October every year.Every year, about 2000 people wearing costumes from the Heian era to the Meiji era wander around the metropolitan area. Due to the influence of the virus, it will be canceled and only the Shinto ritual will be held.

On the 21st, at the Heian Jingu Shrine in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, which held the festival, an annual insect drying was held to protect the festival costume from insects and mold.

A mat was laid outside the storehouse where the costumes were stored, and the person in charge exposed the colorful costumes to the summer sunshine and wind while spreading the costumes on the box.

The fact is that about 100 costumes, such as the princess of the Edo period, twelve people in Womiya and the aspirants who were active at the end of the Edo period, were dried.

Mitsunori Kato, who is in charge of costume repairs, said, "I'm sorry that I can't wait for the line, but I want to do what I can do next year."
