At 8 o'clock on August 20, there was a flood peak of 75,000 cubic meters per second in the Three Gorges Reservoir. As of 10 o'clock on the same day, the flood flow of the reservoir still maintained 75,000 cubic meters per second. Since the evening of the 19th, the Three Gorges Reservoir has further increased its discharge flow, reaching 49,400 cubic meters per second by 22:00, which also created the largest discharge since the construction of the Three Gorges Reservoir. On the 20th, the Three Gorges Dam continued to open 11 deep flood discharge holes, with a flow rate of about 49,000 cubic meters per second, and a peak cut of about 26,000 cubic meters per second, which eased the flood control pressure in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
