According to the website of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, at 0-24 o'clock on August 18, 1 new case of asymptomatic infection in Guangdong Province was reported. Transfer to designated hospitals for medical observation. There were 4 newly imported confirmed cases and 7 imported asymptomatic infections.
4 newly imported confirmed cases were reported from Guangzhou, 2 from Ethiopia, 1 from Bangladesh and 1 from Canada. There were 7 newly imported cases of asymptomatic infections imported from abroad. Guangzhou reported 2 cases from Canada and Saudi Arabia; Shenzhen reported 3 cases from Russia; Yangjiang reported 2 cases from the Philippines. All of the above were found at the port of entry or isolation point, and were quarantined for observation after entry. 2 new cases were discharged.
As of 24:00 on August 18, Guangdong Province had reported a total of 1,725 confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia (329 imported from abroad). There are currently 28 cases in hospital.
