After the controversial authorization to accommodate up to 9,000 people, despite health restrictions, for August 15, the Puy du Fou was this time refused a new exemption for next weekend. The night show, the Cinéscénie, will therefore be able to accommodate a maximum of 5,000 spectators. 

No controversial decision this time around. While the Puy du Fou had attracted many criticisms by being authorized to accommodate up to 9,000 people for a show on August 15, despite restrictions linked to the coronavirus epidemic, the park will return to a gauge of 5,000 spectators maximum next weekend, reports Ouest-France .

The prefect of Vendée has in fact refused to grant Puy du Fou a new exemption, while the park wanted to increase the number of spectators for its night show, the Cinéscénie, on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 August. 

Le Puy du Fou "takes note"

"This decision is based on the reassessment of the local and national health situation, the most up-to-date data confirming a deterioration which is accelerating", indicates the prefecture of Vendée. For its part, the management of Puy du Fou, contacted by the regional daily, said "take note" of the authorities' decision. "We take note, we respect and we will apply, of course, the decisions taken by the State", assures David Nouaille, in charge of marketing and communication of Puy du Fou.

On August 14, the Vendée prefecture issued an order authorizing the Puy du Fou to accommodate up to 9,000 people for its night show, the Cinéscénie, on Saturday August 15. This decision had bristled the world of culture. The Puy du Fou had already created controversy in July by welcoming 12,000 people for this same show. The park was then passed under the bar of 5,000 spectators.
