On the evening of August 17, Leshan City in Sichuan encountered heavy rainfall again. Affected by torrential rains, the Leshan Basin of the Qingyi River has over-preserved water levels, causing more than 1,000 people to be trapped in the Big Buddha Dam on Fengzhou Island, Shizhong District, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. After the danger occurred, rescue forces such as firefighting, armed police, and militia used assault boats to cooperate with ships to rescue the trapped people.
