An extensive fire, but which did not damage any dwelling. The fire which caused the evacuation of hundreds of people on Saturday evening in Faucon (Vaucluse) was set for Sunday, but remained active in certain sectors, we learned from the firefighters. Sunday morning, the fire had covered 130 hectares, but had not affected any home, firefighters told AFP.

Evacuation of a reception center

The fire, which broke out on Saturday evening near Vaison-la-Romaine, had required evacuation to a reception center of 348 people living in two campsites and a subdivision of a hundred houses. At midday Sunday, all were able to return to their accommodation or their campsite, according to the firefighters.

274 Vaucluse firefighters and more than 200 reinforcements remained mobilized. The air means flew over the area on Sunday but without practicing drops.
