[Explanation] On August 15, the Memorial Hall for the Victims of the Nanjing Massacre by the Japanese Invaders celebrated its 35th anniversary. At 8 o'clock in the morning, the memorial held the ceremony of "raising the national flag and ringing the bell of peace" on the public memorial square.

  [Explanation] Subsequently, representatives of Nanjing Zijincao International Peace School rang the peace bell in turn, praying for peace. During the event, about 50 people including leaders and employees who participated in the preparation and construction of the memorial hall, representatives of the design and construction party of the memorial hall, and representatives of survivors of the Nanjing Massacre gathered peacefully to remember the dead.

  It has been (nearly) 38 years since I formally participated in the preparations for the (memorial hall) in December 1983. I was 50 years old at that time and 87 years old this year. (I feel) my days are passing fast. (I hope) to build this memorial better and educate our next generation.

  These are all tools for my work (time). Some of the information is vague and I will use a magnifying glass to show it (look). Otherwise, I need to record when I interview the Nanjing Massacre survivors. This tape recorder is also very important. tool.

  [Explanation] On the same day, a memorial event with the theme of "Flower Language" was held in the temporary exhibition hall of the memorial hall. Participants of the event used chrysanthemums to express their grief to the compatriots who died and pray for peace.

  Today is the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the museum and the 75th anniversary of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. On this special day, we held a flag-raising ceremony, rang the bell of peace, and held a retrospective of our museum history to pay tribute to our predecessors. The contribution made by this memorial hall is also to remember this special day.
