News on August 14th, Springer Nature’s open access journal "Science Reports" recently published a paleontology research paper saying that the internal structure of a trilobite fossil eye from 429 million years ago is almost the same as that of modern bees. The eyes are exactly the same. The results of this study indicate that the vision principles of many modern insects and crustaceans are at least 500 million years old.
