Congo-Brazzaville: should we rename the streets and change the monuments?

Congo-Brazzaville is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its independence this Saturday, August 15, 2020. Many monuments, public spaces or gardens and large avenues bearing the names of prominent French personalities during colonization are still very present in the capital.

Publicity

Its inhabitants are very divided on the conservation or not of these vestiges of the past. Some want them to be destroyed or replaced to make way for the resistance, for example. Others, on the other hand, hold to their conservation in the name of the perpetuation of history.
