Amadou Diaby, vice-president of the Guinean Football Federation (Féguifoot), suspended from his duties for alleged racketeering against ex-coach Paul Put, will have to be retried by the Ethics Commission of Féguifoot. The Court of Arbitration for Sport, which had been seized by Diaby, partially allowed his appeal. The CAS considered that his rights had not been fully respected during the procedure.

The Guinean Football Federation (Féguifoot) has not finished with the Amadou Diaby affair. This first vice-president of the Féguifoot obtained the right to be retried. In August 2019, he was suspended for 7 years (including 5 closed) for alleged racketeering against the former coach of the Guinea national team, Paul Put. For the most part , estimated the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS), the Féguifoot did not properly investigate the case and the appellant's right to be heard [Amadou Diaby, who seized the CAS, Editor's note] has not been respected  ”. The umbrella body of Guinean football must also pay 10,000 Swiss francs to the complainant, "  as a contribution for his legal fees  " and other expenses related to the procedure.

Amadou Tham Camara, President of the Ethics Commission at Féguifoot, reacted to this decision of the CAS, at the microphone of Cellou Tata Diallo: "  We have taken note of the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport which, for formal considerations and procedures, referred the case to the Ethics Commission of the Guinean Football Federation for further review. But while specifying that this should not be interpreted as a release for Mr. Amadou Diaby.  "

"This decision is fully satisfactory"

Amadou Diaby had been dismissed by the Ethics Commission of the Féguifoot, the latter having considered that the concerned had taken illegal commissions on the salary of the Belgian technician, himself suspended for alleged acts of racketeering within the selection Guinean.

For Jean Samuel Leuba, one of Amadou Diaby's representatives, the CAS decision is a victory. The procedural breaches which resulted in a decision which was unfair against Mr. Diaby were recognized by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which considers that they are of such seriousness that the decision can only be annulled , a- he estimated at the microphone of Christophe Jousset. From this point of view, this decision is fully satisfactory  ”.

It remains to be seen when will the new procedure before the Ethics Commission of Féguifoot take place.
