China News Service, Beijing, August 14 (Reporter Ying Ni) The donation ceremony of "Dream Pursuing Water and Clouds-Bai Xu Ink Book and Bai Xu Calligraphy Works Donation Exhibition" was held on the 14th at the National Library of China. The first solo exhibition of the exhibition is a precedent for donating works to the National Library.

Rao Quan, director of the National Library and the National Museum of Classics, said that through exhibitions, more and more outstanding contemporary art works have been collected by the National Library. Mr. Bai Xu’s “Chasing Dreams in Water and Clouds” is the first of the first solo exhibition to be donated to the National Library of China. He donated all 47 masterpieces on display to the National Library for free. This is the accumulation of the artist’s decades of artistic creation. It is the support and trust of the National Library.

At the scene, Bai Xu donated 52 pieces of personal works in 47 categories to the National Library (National Museum of Classics). Rao Quan issued a donation certificate to him.

Bai Xu, formerly the fifth deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, has a unique calligraphy style. Because of the free and diffuse water halo and bleeding out of the author’s control in ink calligraphy, coupled with the wild and agility of cursive script, the water halo forms and depths of the works are different. Based on the various forms and changes of ink calligraphy, the exhibition has made many bold and free attempts, such as the works "Peach Blossom Water", "Lone Crane", etc., which are full of ink and wash rhythms; in addition, some oracle bone inscriptions and Abstract paintings enrich the content of the exhibition, and strive to convey the unique, simple and honest artistic pursuit through the works.

It is reported that the exhibition is co-sponsored by the National Library (National Museum of Classics) and the Chinese Calligraphers Association and will be on display until August 21. Visitors can make an appointment for free visits in advance on the WeChat official account of the "National Library". (Finish)
