The General Secretariat of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Prize for Photography announced the winners of the "Instagram" competition last July, whose theme was "Summer".

The competition witnessed a sweep of the Indonesian lens through the photographers: Muhammad Abdul Mujib, Gangar Mustika and Sander Sonambella, alongside the Emirati brilliance of the photographer Salem Al-Sawafi, while the contract of the five Iranian photographers was completed by Hadith Faqiri.

The July edition of the competition confirmed the momentum of the qualitative presence of the Indonesian lens, which is strongly present in the winners' lists for the third month in a row.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Award, Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, said, “The summer is one of the seasons visually distinct in terms of the nature of fun activities and hobbies in which most peoples share summer images, as it is dominated by joy, and this is positive and required after the long closures that they have suffered. Most of the world's population ».

He added, "We notice that the joy of summer is not complete without the presence of water in one form or another, and these combined elements attract the lens to capture creative works capable of competing and attracting attention."

For his part, Salem Al-Sawafi revealed that he had taken his photo on his father's farm, where he and his brothers were in an empty area far from the hustle and bustle of the city, so the idea of ​​filming with drones occurred to him while playing the ball in the soapy stadium, which is characterized by summer colors that fit the theme of the competition, indicating that he He has previously won several competitions, such as the Sheikh Zayed Mosque competition, and the Khalifa International Award for Dates and Palms.

Al-Sawafi added: “I aspire to be one of the best photographers in the Emirates and the world, and to raise the flag of my country high in international forums.”

For his part, Indonesian Muhammad Abdul Mujib said that he took his winning photo on a beach on the island of Nusa Penida in "Bali", during a trip to explore the magnificence of Indonesia, adding: “I previously won in a local competition through social media, but I won the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Award is the biggest achievement.
