Faced with the irresponsible passivity of the Government and the intolerable attitude of some citizens, who act oblivious to the lethal danger posed by the coronavirus - putting their lives and that of others at risk - the medical associations have decided, with great success , to take the initiative. Through separate communications, the Collegiate Medical Organization and the associations of pulmonologists, internists, microbiologists, anesthesiologists and family doctors, among other specialized professionals, have shown their indignation with the current situation, warning of the "continuous and worrying increase in Covid-19 cases", the increase in patients admitted to hospitals and ICUs, the conscious non-compliance with prevention measures -especially by young people-, the negligent inaction of the Ministry of Health and the unequal performance of the Autonomous Communities . None of this, however, seems to be important for Fernando Simón , who yesterday once again demonstrated his proven unreliability -which has had such dire consequences for the victims of the coronavirus- for, rooted in his speech and oblivious to reality , deny that we are on the verge of a new health collapse, as the doctors warn.

It is absolutely reasonable that the medical community, recognized by all citizens for its determined dedication in the most difficult weeks of the crisis, is not willing to continue exercising the heroic and sacrificial role that it had to play . It should not be forgotten that, due to the lack of foresight by the Government and its failed policy of purchasing material, health workers were forced to carry out intense working hours, in many cases without protection measures, in which 61 professionals and thousands more were infected . Doctors thank in their writing "the applause and affection of the population", but warn of " the disappointment and discouragement " of many of them with that part of the population that maintains "irresponsible and possibly criminal behavior." Also, with political authorities that have failed to fulfill their promises to strengthen the health system, providing it with resources and personnel to help end the "underdevelopment of primary care", and changing its institutional configuration, to promote effective and efficient collaboration. between administrations. As did a score of scientists in the prestigious journal The Lancet , medical associations demand an audit of the government's performance to avoid falling into the same mistakes and the system from overflowing again.

Because that is a real danger, despite the fact that Fernando Simón minimized it , omitting that many regions are already suffering a second wave of infections and that the arrival of September -with the start of the school year and the return to work of many Spaniards- I was able to get back to the health system without sufficient preparation. Because again, the spread of the virus is ahead of the actions of the medical authorities . Furthermore, not all the desirable tests are being carried out and, above all, the CCAA have not equipped themselves with a sufficient number of trackers, which are essential to limit the spread of the virus.
