After a remarkable stint on Netflix with The Irishman, Martin Scorsese has just signed a multi-year agreement for film and television projects that the filmmaker will produce and direct for Apple TV + via his company Sikelia Productions, according to information from the American site Deadline .
The collaboration will start with Killers of the Flower Moon , Eric Roth's adaptation of David Grann's non-fiction book worn by Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. The film is in pre-production and shooting is slated to begin in February in Oklahoma.
Martin Scorsese would have requested a pharaonic budget from Paramount for this film, which would have called into question the agreement he had with this studio, especially after the failure of the magnificent Silence at the box office (23 million receipts for a budget of about 46 million).

Apple TV + won an auction with the return to market of the over $ 180 million film, overtaking Netflix and other studios, and becoming the producer of the feature film. International distribution will always be handled by Paramount, ensuring a theatrical release before its broadcast on the SVOD platform.
