All close contacts of plague patients in Damao Banner, Inner Mongolia, released from quarantine

  Chinanews.com Baotou, August 13 (Reporter Zhang Wei) On the 13th, all close contacts of plague patients who underwent centralized medical observation in Damaoqi Hospital, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, were lifted from isolation and returned home.

  On August 2, a death case occurred in Wendu Village, Suji New Village, Shibao Town, Damao Banner. The patient was diagnosed as intestinal plague after consultation with two medical expert groups in Baotou City and Damao Banner.

  Starting from August 4, 9 close contacts have undergone centralized quarantine medical observation. Under the consultation and guidance of the expert group, after testing, the plague nucleic acid test of close contacts was negative, and there were no abnormal symptoms such as fever and cough for 9 consecutive days, which reached the discharge standard.

  On the 12th, the expert team conducted a comprehensive assessment and acceptance of the disposal of the plague-affected area in Suji New Village, Wenbuling Village Committee, Shibao Town, Damao Banner. It was unanimously agreed that the affected area and surrounding environment of the village reached the standards of the “Communicable Diseases of the People’s Republic of China”. The Prevention and Control Law, the Treatment Standards and Principles for Human Plague Epidemic Areas, and the handling standards and requirements stipulated in the Chinese State and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Plague Prevention and Control Emergency Plan.

  The People's Government of Damao Banner issued a "Notice" stating that the disposal of the epidemic area has passed the inspection and acceptance, the blockade and isolation of Suji New Village, Shibao Town, Shibao Town, Damao Banner will be lifted, and the Level IV emergency response to the plague epidemic will be terminated immediately.
