Saitama Prefecture announced that a woman in her 70s died on the 8th of this month among those who had been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture and were hospitalized at medical institutions in the prefecture.
According to the prefecture, women had an underlying illness, so of those who were confirmed to be infected in the prefecture, 80 people died.
In addition, it was confirmed that 45 new people were infected with the new coronavirus in the prefecture.
Of these, 29 were announced by Saitama Prefecture, 8 were from Saitama City, 6 were from Kawaguchi City, and 2 were from Koshigaya City.
The total number of infected people announced in the prefecture is now 2,998.
