He said that since January this year, the Macao SAR government has been negotiating with the Guangdong Provincial Government on the Guangdong-Macao (Hengqin) deep cooperation zone plan. After many months of discussion, there is basically a preliminary plan. It is hoped that through communication and exchanges with central ministries and commissions, the plan to deepen the cooperation zone will be further implemented.
The new port of Hengqin will be opened on August 18, when the original lotus port of Macau will be relocated to the Macao port area of Hengqin port, and the new model of "cooperative inspection and one-time release" will be implemented. He Yicheng said that the Lianhua Port will be temporarily retained as a supplementary facility when problems occur at the new Hengqin Port until the flow of people and freight at the Hengqin Port is smooth, and the Lianhua Port will be converted into government buildings.
Regarding the economic trend of Macau in the second half of the year, He Yicheng said that the measures for mainland residents to go to Australia for personal travel will be gradually relaxed. This will bring some help to the economic development of Macau.
