The popularity of urban agriculture dates back to the aftermath of World War II. It was born in a context of severe shortages and was then a means of subsistence for the townspeople.

With industrialization, cultivable spaces have shrunk, but today urban farms are booming. Example in London where we cultivate in the open air but also underground!
