What's the problem with this (it’s just this one is a bit loose, but it’s okay underneath. It’s okay for the whole use, but there’s a little problem with this position) this position is loose, it should be solved soon.

  [Concurrent] Yang Dacheng, camera repairer

My name is Yang Dacheng. It has been 20 years since I have repaired the camera, and hundreds of thousands of cameras have been repaired. Repairing the camera is like a surgeon treating a patient to me, and I am treating the camera.

[Explanation] Eye magnifier, small pliers, small tweezers... When the reporter came to Yang Dacheng's "camera clinic", he was using these tools to repair a SLR camera. Yang Dacheng said that repairing a camera requires not only a steady hand, but also patience. It is common to repair a machine continuously for more than five or six hours.

First of all, you have to know how to dissect this is one of them. The second is mainly how to find out the problem, and the third is how to find out how to solve the problem. Hand stability is also a factor, because you work thinner, to what extent is thinner than our human hair, two threads may have to be connected in a row at the same time. To repair a more difficult machine, I have been sitting and repairing it myself. It is very common to repair it for five or six hours. I work overtime until one or two, two or three o'clock (at night), and it may not be possible to straighten up the waist after fixing it.

[Explanation] Yang Dacheng, a 40-year-old Fujian native, has been in Beijing for 23 years. Talking about why he started repairing cameras, Yang Dacheng said that he loved photography since he was a child. After he came to Beijing, he wanted to learn a craft to make a living, so he started. The work of repairing the camera has been completed. Over the years, he has recorded every complicated camera malfunction he encountered in his book, and he often read it for review. He said that the value of each camera should not be measured by money. The meaning behind it may be priceless. He was very pleased to help these malfunctioning cameras "resurrect the dead."

It may have been ten years ago. What impressed me more deeply was a machine (guest) that had flooded from a field to Beijing and brought it over and asked me to help him repair it. I opened it and saw that the corrosion was more serious, and it took a lot of effort to repair it. After the repair, the guests were particularly excited. It may be said that this camera was left to him by his father and is of commemorative value. After I repaired it, it can be taken again intact as before.

[Explanation] From the after-sales maintenance staff of the camera store to the start of their own business in 2006, the 10-square-meter shop in Yang Dacheng has an endless stream of customers who come to repair cameras every day.

  [Concurrent] Customer Zhang Lei

I took the subway from Tongzhou for about two and a half hours to come here today to help a friend fix a 217 tilt-shift lens. There may be some looseness during use, and it will be restored within half an hour after being handed over to Master Yang. I feel a lot more at ease.

  [Concurrent] Customer Jia Yimu

I've been here for a few years, and every time I basically come to him now. In fact, I’m 30 kilometers away from here. People who like to take pictures feel very uncomfortable with a little bit of flaws. When I get here, I will solve them immediately. I have a sense of trust for so many years.

[Commentary] Yang Dacheng said that helping customers solve intractable problems with cameras made him feel very fulfilled. In the future, he will continue to refine his repair skills and repair each camera sent in as it was before, allowing it to continue to freeze the beautiful moments.
