On August 11, the Yellow River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources of China (the "Yellow Committee") reported that the Yellow River had flooded No. 4 in 2020.
According to the Yellow River Committee, due to the recent continuous rainfall, the flow of major hydrological stations in the source area of the Yellow River has continued to increase. At 7:06 on the 11th, the Tangnaihai Hydrological Station in the upper reaches of the Yellow River showed a flow of 2500 cubic meters per second, which is the No. 4 flood of the Yellow River in 2020.
The flood control situation in the upper reaches of the Yellow River has become increasingly severe. The Yellow River Committee issued a blue early warning for flood conditions in the upper reaches of the Yellow River on the same day. Since 8 o'clock, it has initiated Level IV emergency response to flood and drought disaster prevention in the upper reaches of the Yellow River.
The defense department of the Yellow River Committee swiftly issued notices to the Water Resources Department of Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia provinces (regions), the Western and Northern Theater Operations Bureau, and the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River. Defend, rush to protect in time if danger is found, and do a good job in evacuation of people in the river.
