The gentle method and an accelerating rhythm of departures. According to the Lozère prefecture, of the 10,000 revelers who chose to brave the coronavirus epidemic by participating this weekend in a giant rave party in the Cevennes National Park, 2,500 were still there this Tuesday morning.

"The presence of young children, the precarious sanitary conditions linked to the consumption of drugs or narcotics, and the rapid decrease in the number of participants linked to the checks carried out by the police, fully justify at this stage the decision of the State services not to proceed with the forced evacuation of the site, ”indicates the prefecture.

Farmers join the dance

This "tecknival", organized in fields located in the town of Hures-la-Parade, aroused the anger of 13 farmers from the Rural Coordination (minority union). On Monday, demanding the forced evacuation of revelers, they blocked several roads before attempting to cut the A75 motorway and protest loudly in the streets of Mende during the evening. "It is regrettable that the action of the farmers of the Rural Coordination has diverted part of the police from the priority mission assigned to them on the site of the tecknival", deplores the prefecture.

Until this giant rave party, Lozère, the least populated department in France, was also the most spared the coronavirus epidemic.
