[Explanation] On August 10th, the Tibet Autonomous Region's 2020 Tibetan Buddhism study monk's assessment and promotion of Geshe La Rangpa degree initiation defense and certification ceremony was held at the Jokhang Monastery in Lhasa, Tibet, from Lhasa, Xigaze, Shannan, Qamdo, Nagqu The 12 monks involved in the monastery obtained a degree in Geshe La Rangpa in Tibetan Buddhism.

  In the defense activities of establishing the Zongzong here, the examiners conducted fierce replies around the contents of the five major theories of Tibetan Buddhism mentioned by the accompanying monks. Through the rigorous evaluation by the Evaluation Committee, Qujilangpa of Qianmbalin Monastery won the first place with excellent results, Lausanne Cholang of Tashilhunpo Monastery won the second place, and Awang Gongqing of Drepung Monastery won the third place. Ngawang Thuja of Xiangkang Temple won the fourth place.

  On behalf of the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, Meng Xiaolin, the vice chairman of the Tibet Autonomous Region, presented colorful satin, dried fruits, cassocks, and money to the degree candidates. The head of the Religious Affairs Bureau of the Tibet Autonomous Region distributed alms to monks who participated in the defense activities. The head of the Tibet Branch of the Chinese Buddhist Association delivered a congratulatory message, and presented a Hada and a degree certificate to the degree-obtained monks.

  It is reported that the 2020 summer pre-examination of Tibetan Buddhist monks to be promoted to Geshe La Rangpa degree was successfully completed in Ganden Monastery in July 2019. The 12 monks mentioned above obtained the qualifications for defense in the summer pre-examination.
