routine composition can cope with the current exam but cannot cope with the future life

I went to an elementary school to listen to a graduating class's composition class. A teacher instructed the students to write the beginning of the essay and asked the students to learn "quoting lyrics". For example, write "Mother" and quote the beginning of the song "Mother": "The new schoolbag you enrolled in, someone will give you; your flower folded umbrella in the rain, someone will give you..." For example, write "Childhood", quote The song "Childhood" begins: "On the banyan tree by the pond, Zhiye is screaming summer; on the swing by the playground, only butterflies stop on it..." After a teacher gave the instruction, let the students try their skills. This method writes the beginning of an essay. Many students couldn't think of suitable lyrics and scratched their heads.

When reviewing the class, I rejected this teaching method of a certain teacher, saying that letting students teach students writing according to this routine was too rigid and too convoluted. What is the topic, you can write it straightforwardly, why let the students search for the lyrics?

A certain teacher refused to accept, saying that the lyrics were neat, beautiful, catchy, and rhythmic. The beginning of the lyrics was so impressive that he could shock the judgement teacher and easily score high.

I'm speechless. "Points, points are the lifeblood of teachers and students." As a result, as a teacher said. In the final exam, the language scores of his class are among the best in the county.

A well-known Chinese teacher in a middle school has been among the best in the school and even in the county for many years. About 10 out of more than 40 graduates get full marks each year. Once, I asked him for the "secret book" of composition teaching, and he proudly said: "Without him, it's just the'five-stage three-layer method'."

What is the "five-stage three-layer method"? He gave me a more detailed explanation.

First of all, you have to make preparations: memorize some sample essays and accumulate some universal openings and universal endings.

The backed model essay requires typical deeds and specific content. Wanneng opening and Wanneng ending are both literary passages. They are either gorgeous in rhetoric, neat in sentence patterns, sonorous and powerful, or rich in expression methods, or they quote poems, poems, famous epigrams...

Take the composition title "Tolerance" as an example, the above materials are pieced together like this:

  beginning:

Tolerance is the supreme virtue in human life. Because tolerance contains the human heart, because tolerance can transcend everything, because tolerance requires a broad heart. Because tolerance is the most important part of human emotions, this emotion can melt the frost in the heart.

  intermediate:

Write something about "tolerance". This matter should be described in three paragraphs, which are the cause, course, and result of the matter.

  end:

Life is often complicated and often dull. It is because tolerance is like water that makes the complexity become pure after filtration; it is because tolerance is like fire that makes the plain by burning become more vivid; and because of this poetic tolerance, life is endowed with art and life with eternity.

Why emphasize the embedding of literary passages at the beginning and end? The scoring teacher judged that the composition time is tight and the task is heavy, and generally adopts the "second kill" method. There is no time to read the complete text. Often points are given by a glance at the beginning and the end. The use of such paragraphs at the beginning is also to "shock the scoring teacher" ", the ending of the sentence is to "bluff" the marking teacher: the beginning is wonderful, the ending is neat, and there must be no mistake in the middle, high score!

Although this kind of composition is patchwork, but it is closely related to the topic, the content is specific, the level is clear, the beginning and the end are anaphoric, the language is beautiful, there are almost no major problems, and it is not a high score!

Not long ago, I saw the article "College Entrance Examination Marking, I'm More Willing to Score High for Such Composition" in the public account of the famous special-grade teacher Zhang Lijun. He once chatted with several teachers who had returned from the college entrance examination composition and asked them what kind of college entrance examination composition they were more willing to score. Some of the teachers are blunt--

"I am willing to give high scores for essays with many references." "I am willing to give high scores for essays with good language."

Look, in elementary school essays that quote the beginning of the lyrics, and essays that quote the beginning and end of Wanneng in junior high school, all meet the above two standards for high-scoring essays: one is "quoted and accurate", and the other is "language is good." .

Routine composition is like fake flowers in the market. Although it looks gorgeous and colorful, it has no fragrance, vitality, and aura; routine composition is more like a plastic model in a shopping mall. The face and figure are almost impeccable, but It is a body without flesh and blood, temperature and soul.

The current routine composition has been criticized repeatedly in the media, but in teaching practice, the teacher still criticizes you and I teach me; students still criticize you and I write mine. The critic is not the teacher who judges the papers. In a word, as long as the evaluation system does not change, routine composition will last forever.

One year of college entrance examination for twelve years. From elementary school to high school, the orientation of composition evaluation is the same. Which teacher dares to take the students' future as a trifling matter? Which student dare to make a joke about his fate?

What kind of composition should be a good composition? Ye Shengtao once said: "Composition is to use a pen to speak. In composition, you should tell the truth, tell the truth, speak your own words, and don't tell lies, empty words, or idioms." Lu Xun also relentlessly denounced in "The Secrets of Composition" The so-called "composition secret": "If there is a secret in composition, it is just'have true meaning, go to whitewash, be less pretentious, don't show off'." The words of the two literary masters all show such a truth, that is: "True feelings" "Reality" is the soul of a composition and should be used as the first yardstick for evaluating students' composition.

Routine composition, the style of writing is not correct, lack of true feelings, can cope with the current exam, but can not cope with the future life. Although the composition score on the test paper is very high, the writing ability has not been effectively cultivated. Children trained in this way will find it difficult to write things that truly belong to them in the future.

However, the current routine composition is favored by the judging teacher. This is a very sad phenomenon. This evaluation method needs to be corrected urgently.

Teacher Zhang Lijun regretted the answers of those teachers above. She sighed: "Only when we realize that'to pay too much attention to the gorgeousness and fancyness of the article is the chronic disease that Chinese teachers need to heal the most', our composition teaching level is possible. Get a real improvement."

We look forward to this day soon!
