At the briefing on the new crown pneumonia case that was held that afternoon, Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, introduced that of the 69 newly confirmed cases, 2 were imported cases, which arrived in Hong Kong from Ethiopia and India; There were 67 local infections, of which 45 were related to previously confirmed cases and 22 were of unknown origin.
Zhang Zhujun said that among the local infection cases, multiple groups that had previously confirmed cases had new cases. Among the four new confirmed cases involving foreign domestic helpers, they all lived in the dormitory of Jian'an Commercial Building in Sheung Wan where a foreign domestic helper had been diagnosed; another confirmed diagnosis was made at the Kwai Chung Container Terminal, and a total of 8 people were diagnosed in the group. Yu Huiling also pointed out that public hospitals have opened 683 negative pressure wards and 1,245 negative pressure beds, using 69.8% and 64.5% respectively.
