Media reports said on Sunday that British journalist Simon Cowell was taken to hospital after being hit in the back.
The British newspaper, the Daily Mail, reported that Kaul, 60, was taken to hospital on Saturday after he fell off his electric bicycle.
"Simon broke his back and will undergo surgery today," a spokesman for Cowell said.
"Simon fell off his bike on Saturday evening while testing his electric bike near his home in Malibu, California," he added.
He explained that «his back was injured and taken to hospital. He is fine and is subject to observation. ”
