The most impressive thing is that she tells us every day that she arranges the work very well and very carefully. She will guide us in time, so I will always remember.

[Commentary] Jiang Shusen's works have a wide range of subjects and different types. Among them, a series of realistic-themed films such as "Remnant Snow" and "No. 5 Garden Street" reflecting the social outlook in the early stage of China's reform and opening up have aroused greater social response after their release. "Can Snow" also won the 1980 Outstanding Film Award from the Ministry of Culture.

Liu Tongyan, born in 1940, used to be Jiang Shusen's deputy director and co-produced many movies with her. Liu Tongyan recalled that early female film directors had to overcome more difficulties to make a film.
