Two weeks ago, Manchester City had already tasted the Aubameyang special formula at Wembley, in the semi-final of the 2019-2020 FA Cup. The Gabonese had scored two goals to eliminate the Cityzens . This Saturday August 1, in the final, still at Wembley, Chelsea took the same price.

A new double for "PEA"

In an almost deserted stadium, coronavirus obliges, yet it is the Blues who struck the first thanks to the American Christian Pulisic (5th). An advantage that did not last long. A little later, the captains of both teams found themselves in the fight in the penalty area of Chelsea, and César Azpilicueta blamed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Without trembling, the attacker transformed his penalty and equalized (28th).

In the second half, the former Borussia Dortmund scorer bent the Chelsea rearguard. Facing Kurt Zouma, the attacker made a perfect dribble to find himself facing Willy Caballero. And with a perfectly sharp ball, "PEA" scored the goal of 2-1 (67th). The Blues could not recover, even less after the second yellow card synonymous with the red card received by Matteo Kovacic (73rd).

European Arsenal, Chelsea almost doomed to an untitled season

Out in the round of 16 of the Europa League and in the 3rd round of the League Cup, only 8th in the league, Arsenal ended this special 2019-2020 season on a high note. By winning their 14th Cup (improved record ahead of Manchester United's 12 victories), Mikel Arteta's club are securing a place in the Europa League next season.

For Chelsea, on the other hand, this season will remain blank, barring a huge feat in the Champions League. The road to Final 8 in Portugal begins with an immense challenge: recovering from a 0-3 defeat against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 second leg on August 8.
