On August 6, the engine room of a 99-meter-long Chinese bulk carrier caught fire on the surface of the Beibu Gulf in Guangxi. The fire spread rapidly. There were 11 crew members on board and the situation was very critical. After receiving the alarm, the North Sea Maritime Department notified the nearby vessels in the danger to keep a safe distance, dispatched the "Hai Xun 10181" ship to the scene to organize rescue, and coordinated two tugboats to assist in the rescue.

After the rescue vessel arrived at the scene, all 11 crew members in distress were rescued. At this time, the fire on the ship in distress had spread to the upper deck, and the fire was relatively large. Based on the actual situation at the scene, the maritime department directed the rescue vessel to extinguish the fire and did a good job in preventing pollution from the ship.

The maritime department has set up an accident investigation team to investigate the cause of the fire. (Reporter Lin Hao edited Li Jiali's video source Guangxi Maritime Safety Administration)
