[Live Voice] Zeng Li interacts with the cat

Sheep and sheep, don’t be nervous. Sheep and sheep are so good, do you eat one?

[Commentary] The name of the person playing with the cat in front of the camera is Zeng Li, who is in charge of the "Lucky Cat", a stray cat rescue organization in Beijing. In 2001, she was originally engaged in the Internet industry. She accidentally learned that there were many stray cats that needed help, and started rescue work with 6 volunteers.

Through communication with other cat friends who raised cats, we began to know that in addition to the cats in the house, there are some kittens who live in the community and in the park, and no one cares about these kittens. In fact, the biggest state at that time was based on sympathy for small lives, so I hope to help them improve some of the more difficult living conditions they face, and make life as much as possible to rejuvenate.

[Explanation] With the continuous development of rescue work, Zeng Li’s rescue team has grown stronger and has begun to cooperate with organizations such as the International Foundation for Animal Protection, Beijing Aita Animal Protection Foundation and other organizations to carry out project cooperation, while maintaining the smooth operation of the organization, covering There are more places where stray cats tend to gather, and there are more rescue projects.

In 2004, we suddenly realized that the number of stray cats was reproducing too fast, only to realize that besides adopting them, we could also help them sterilize. He started to help Zhongshan Park in 2007 and Badachu Park in 2012. With the help of "Lucky Cat" volunteers and volunteers, the stray cats inside have been neutered one after another, and some stray cats have been adopted. Through such rescue work and animal welfare work, it has achieved a harmonious coexistence between humans and animals.

[Explanation] In 2011, Zeng Li and her team established an adoption center, where cats who have completed physical examinations and neutering can wait for their new owners. Every day, Zeng Li receives dozens of adoption applications, and the adoption can only be completed after passing the screening assessment. Zeng Li said frankly that whether the applicant has a sense of responsibility is the most important evaluation criterion.

After receiving the adoption application, we will enter an evaluation and screening process. After we have passed the screening, we will invite our adopters to the adoption center to have close contact with the cats, and at the same time complete the final adoption communication. Everyone's love for cats is real, but in fact, adopting it means not only love, but the responsibility for more than ten years. This part is actually the most important part of adoption communication. I hope everyone will consider raising cats as a serious matter.

[Commentary] In order to keep abreast of the progress of various rescue work, Zeng Li has established dozens of WeChat groups, and volunteers and adopters can communicate with her about the latest situation. In her view, rescue is not just shelter. When each stray cat is successfully integrated into the new family, the rescue is truly completed.

For the vast majority of young cat owners, the biggest problem they face is the tension caused by excessive force. It is possible that after a cat enters the house, for example, a piece of cat ringworm suddenly grows. In fact, it is a small problem, but this cat ringworm will cause the owner to be extremely nervous. In fact, we have done a lot of work to calm down the mood of the owner and the cat together, not to be so anxious, to feel this life.

[Explanation] Currently, nearly 200 stray cats are "transited" in adoption centers every year. In the past 20 years, more than 3,000 stray cats have found new homes. Speaking of the future, Zeng Li hopes that animal rescue work can be more professional, and every stray cat can find an exclusive "poop shoveling officer".

Because we don't actually have an animal welfare major in China, it may be more at the level of public welfare, and it has very few cross-levels to animals. If you put these four parts, namely emergency assistance, medical treatment, sterilization, and adoption, into one package, it must be more professional and effective. In the future, the organization will move towards a more professional direction that it can provide, and really help this field, helping these little stray cats find a new home.
