At 9 a.m. on August 4, at the construction site of the Pihe Main Canal Aqueduct, a 76-ton steel aqueduct arch string C11 component fell steadily.

Since then, the construction of the steel aqueduct of the main canal of the Pihe River for the Diversion Project from the Yangtze River to the Huaihe River has taken 9 months to construct since its girder was erected on October 28, 2019, and staged progress has been achieved-all the side spans of the steel aqueduct are closed.

The completion of the closure of the side spans of the main canal of the Pihe River marks that the steel aqueduct has officially entered the stage of erecting the 110-meter arch string girder of the world's first span, laying a solid foundation for the smooth closure of the aqueduct at the end of 2020 and the official opening of the aqueduct in 2021.
