The leader of Citizens in the Valencian Community left his career as an actor to focus on politics, but continues to devour books, records, series and, somewhat less, movies.

Combine classics like Shakespeare, Philip Roth or Pink Floyd with more recent releases like 'Succession', 'Watchmen' or the 'remake' of the series 'Perry Mason' on HBO.

Music: Pink Floyd

I always say that if I had to take a song to a desert island I would choose the longest and the one I like best: The dark side of the moon , perhaps the most famous Pink Floyd album (1973, Harvest Records). A single song that lasts an entire LP and goes through so many nuances that it is a world.

Anything more summery? I always like listening to Raíces al viento by Juan Perro (1995), listening to Kiko Veneno again , with records like Échate un cantecito (1992) ... and reggae by Bob Marley , always.

But in any case, in summer what you most want is something moved that helps to fulfill that maxim: dance as if nobody saw you . It is the best way to disconnect after such an intense year.

Books: William Shakespeare

I always say that, if it is a single volume, Shakespeare's Complete Works . Definitely. There is everything. Deep, beautiful, exciting and fun. But this summer, in addition, I will continue with the habit of dedicating most of my time to the crime novel . And any book by John Connolly, Ellroy, Dennis Lehane, Nesbo, Elmer Mendoza, Lemaitre, Don Winslow. And, of course, the Spaniards Arturo Pérez-Reverte, Lorenzo Silva, Ramón Palomar, Ferran Torrent and Gómez Jurado will be welcome.

Also, over the years I am spending more time rereading some of my favorite authors. During this confinement, Vonnegut, Hrabal, Malamud, Roth, Amis, Russo, Quenau ...

Series: 'Perry Mason'

Right now I have made a discovery: Perry Mason on HBO, the remake of the series that originally aired on CBS between 1957 and 1966. A modern classic that I like everything about. The story, the way of telling it and some exceptional interpretations, especially the protagonist, the Welshman Matthew Rhys Evans. A tragic hero in action.

But I really enjoyed other series like Watchmen (HBO), Succession (HBO), Snowfall (HBO), The Crown (Netflix), Stranger things (Netflix), The affair (Movistar +), Ozark (Netflix), The Kominsky method (Netflix ) or The Plot Against America (HBO), based on the 2004 novel by Philip Roth, one of my favorite novelists ...

Movies: Once Upon a Time in America

In case it helps, the last one I saw - that I saw again - is the wonderful Once Upon a Time in America in memory of the genius Morricone who left us recently. Hence, after remembering the young De Niro, to review The Godfather ...

But I must admit that lately I spend more time on the series. In any case, after a period as exceptional as the one we have spent, I want to spend as much time as possible -which will not be much- surrounded by mine, near the sea, disconnected as much as possible from any electronic device and cradled by sound from the laughter and confidences of those I love. It's the soundtrack to the movie I wish I could play this summer
