The Jordanian Minister of Health, Dr. Saad Jaber, revealed that the research results have proven that the source of poisoning in a group of restaurants is the supply of meat and materials that are provided with meals.

On Sunday, the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) quoted Jaber as saying that five tons of expired meat had been seized, in addition to half a ton of potatoes in the facility of the Supply Center.

He added that 20 facilities in Salt, Sweileh, the Ain al-Basha district, and one restaurant in Amman were closed in a precautionary manner until the results of the laboratory samples collected.

Dr. Jaber instructed the formation of a crisis cell, calling on the public prosecutor to take all legal measures and to hold accountable the negligent and those responsible for the poisoning cases.

He pointed out that the number of injuries reached 57, all of whom were admitted to hospitals, and their condition is moderate, stressing that the ministry is following up on the injured cases and that there will be tours to visit the injured people who are on the Shifa family.

On Wednesday, the Jordanian Ministry of Health announced the death of a five-year-old child and the injury of 700 as a result of food poisoning caused by eating "Sharuma" in a restaurant in Balqa Governorate, northwest of the Jordanian capital.
