The activities of the virtual art exhibition "Ishraqat", which was organized by the Fujairah Social and Cultural Society through its art platform on "Instagram", began yesterday, with the participation of a number of Emirati artists, namely: Dr. Najat Makki, Abdul Rahim Salem, Khalid Al-Jalaf, Mubarak Mahboob and Khalil Abdul Wahid.

The exhibition, which lasts until the sixth of August this year, included a group of artworks, distributed among drawings, sculptures, Arabic calligraphy paintings, photographs, and installations that celebrate human experiences, societal nature and their philosophical reflections on the fabric of civilized development.

Khaled Al-Dhanhani, Chairman of the Society, said: “The exhibition presents a variety of creative works with various materials, methods and artistic subjects, with the aim of enriching the creative scene and supporting contemporary Emirati artists and highlighting their pioneering role in promoting the intellectual development of the Emirati society by displaying their work in front of a diverse virtual audience. ».

He explained that «(Fujairah Cultural) works to create a distinct institutional environment that stimulates creativity and excellence, and supports the ambitious vision of the Emirates that aims to share the Emirati culture to the world, as well as enhancing Fujairah’s position as a leading cultural destination that celebrates creativity in all its spectrum and encourages creators and talents in all fields» .

For her part, Dr. Najat Makki expressed her happiness by participating in the digital exhibition. She added, “The exhibition’s name (Eshraqat) came to express the content of the displayed works, which focus on art in its various forms and shapes in the surrounding environment. Art is a language that carries an aesthetic content and a culturally crafted cultural experience for self-expression.” The efforts of the organizers of the exhibition at the Fujairah Social and Cultural Association appreciated the importance of the role they play in promoting the levels of intellectual awareness of plastic art and disseminating it to all segments of society.

For his part, Khaled Al-Jallaf, the artist and calligrapher, stressed the importance of Arabic calligraphy as a universal language capable of dialogue with the world, adding that "the presence of Arabic calligraphy in various art exhibitions is a prosperity of the arts in general, which confirms the strength and greatness of the state." He pointed out that the art of Arabic calligraphy developed rapidly in the Emirates, where today it is a kiss for calligraphers and seekers of the aesthetics of language and letters and their expressions. He commended the efforts of the Fujairah Cultural Association in organizing this unique exhibition, which addresses a diverse mix of cultures within the virtual world.
