The heat will be very intense in the country on Friday, with a stormy trend from the Massif Central to the north in the afternoon and evening, according to Météo-France, which has placed 32 departments on orange heatwave alert. In the afternoon, on the Atlantic coast and in particular on the coastal departments of Aquitaine, the maximum temperatures will be down compared to Thursday, between 27 and 32 degrees, locally less from the Breton point to the Vendée coast. Everywhere else, the heat will be intense in the afternoon with 34 to 39 degrees, locally 40 to 41 degrees in the shade over the Paris basin, Champagne, Burgundy, Berry, northern Auvergne and the average Rhône valley. Spectacular forest fire in Anglet
Fanned by the wind, fed by the drought and the heat, a spectacular fire ravaged Thursday evening about 100 hectares of pine forest in the forest of Chiberta, in the center of Anglet (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). This fire of unknown origins, which broke out at the end of the afternoon, "is under control but it is complicated because we still have occasional occasions near the houses", announced the mayor, Claude Olive, around one o'clock in the morning. At around 3 a.m., a spokesperson for the prefecture indicated that the fire had burned 100 hectares of forest and affected a total of 165 hectares, including the more or less affected urban areas around. Emmanuel Macron arrived in Brégançon for the summer break
Emmanuel Macron moved to Fort de Brégançon, the summer residence of the Presidents of the Republic in the Var, the Elysee confirmed on Thursday. According to the local press, he arrived discreetly on Wednesday evening, following the last Council of Ministers before the holidays. The president will return to his government during the Council of Ministers back to school on August 25, but his return date could also take place earlier, according to the Elysee.
