Bringing in a mobile phone to junior high school Conditionally admitted 5:34 on August 1, Ministry of Education

Regarding the introduction of mobile phones to children's junior high schools, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has notified the Boards of Education etc. across the country that each school should establish rules such as management methods and allow them conditionally.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has banned bringing mobile phones such as smartphones to elementary and junior high schools.

However, as a result of consideration given by the voices of parents who would like to be allowed to bring in for safety while going to and from school, we decided to admit for junior high school as long as certain conditions were satisfied, and I notified the meeting.

The rules stipulate that each school establish rules, such
as prohibiting use within the
school and temporarily managing at the school after going to school.

On the other hand,
▽ Clarify where to take responsibility in case of trouble such as loss at school ,
Parents set a "filtering" function that restricts connections to harmful sites, etc. I'm asking you to teach at home and at home how to use the phone.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology states that bringing-in is conditional, and says, "I want the school, children, and parents to cooperate and operate properly."

Expert "School Parents Students Should Discuss and Decide"

Professor Daisuke Fujikawa of the Faculty of Education, Chiba University, who is familiar with the actual situation at the educational site, said, "I can understand the thoughts of parents who can be anxious if an earthquake occurs without bringing in a mobile phone. I think that there is a risk that you will have an accident with a smartphone while walking home while you are out of school, or there will be troubles between children because of shooting and SNS. The situation is different depending on the region and school, and it may be better for the school, parents, and students to discuss and decide instead of the country making uniform decisions. It will be a burden to existing teachers.”
